Cardboard

What is innovation?

Innovation is taking two things that already exist and putting them together in a new way
– Tom Freston

A piece of paper can either be used as a tissue paper or it could just be the best origami ever.
Some of the best innovations over the past century stemmed from twisting simple things.
For instance: Take the example of a stick.
Add a rubber band to it and it could be used as a slingshot.
Sharpen the edge and you’ve got yourself an spear/arrow.
A matchstick is nothing but a little phosphorous added to a stick.
Its the simple things that end up being way more useful.

The good folks at Google have been doing just that. They took a piece of cardboard and changed it into something that turned out to be refreshing and way cooler than any of us had thought. Google Cardboard was unveiled at the annual Google I/O conference in 2014. Yes! Its been one whole year without the entire world already knowing about it. Thought we’d help pass the word along.

Supreme’s Pav Bhaji

The origin of ‘Pav Bhaji’ can be traced back to textile mill workers in Mumbai(called Bombay back then) in the 1850’s.The workers required something cheap, easy and quick to prepare but high in nutritional value and voila! the answer was Pav Bhaji. Pav bhaji has two main components the bhaji and the Pav. The bhaji is a mixture of all readily available vegetables mixed with some traditional Indian spices. The origin of the Pav is clouded in mystery. Pav or Pao (as the Portuguese called it) is a soft white bread. Some believe the pav to be the invention of the Portuguese during their brief stint in Mumbai as administrators whereas others believe that the word Pav is the Marathi word for one quarter.

Every city has a special restaurant dedicated to this finger licking delicious delicacy and Pune does not lag behind in this list! The Supreme’s Corner on the J M Road is a popular hangout for all age groups from youngsters in groups to families. The menu is kept very simple consisting of pav bhaji, pizza and pulav. The place has been part of Pune for the last 30 years but nothing has been changed in the menu or the interiors of the place. Continue reading

4000 Feet

What could we possibly do that’s different from all our previous ventures?
How about trekking 2 forts at a time, located at an altitude of 4000ft, and getting to visit a cave which dates back to the 2nd century B.C., doing all this before sunset and getting back home at just 30 bucks a person? Continue reading

The Perfect Pout!

Just yesterday , while going through few magazines , I came across this question -How to have perfect lips ?
Well to share my view , no one has like perfect lips , some have thin lips , some have fat lips , some have the upper or lower thin while the other one fat , some may have tiny lips some may have huge wide lips.
It’s the choice of lipstick that makes it look good or bad!
Bright and dull both looks good on people , but it is always wiser to try your lipsticks before you purchase them .
e.g bright loud color looks good on people with a fairer complexion , while people who are more on the wheatish complexion can opt for nude shades , nudes with a tinge of pink , mauve, brown .

The sport you’ll never stop loving!

Sports has always been an integral part of the human civilization. India in particular is crazy about Cricket. We can always find street urchins playing gully cricket with great enthusiasm and concentration. But it is also evident that due to more global exposure and foreign influence, other sports such as football, basketball and rugby are catching up. Football particularly has become a favourite among the 356 millions 10-24 year olds in India.

Football has become one of the runaway remedies to distract my mind from the daily hustles. It has become a part of my daily schedule. It isn’t just a game for me anymore, it brings happiness and peace to my hungry soul. So whenever I’m free, I make it a point to badger all my friends to pick up their kits and head to the turf! My current favourite place to play Football is the Fun & Fitness turf in Mukund Nagar.
